I am trying to set up Ubuntu but I can't seem to get it to recognize my server. My server is running off Linux Mint Daryna and is running Samba to communicate with my Windows machines. The server is running normally, as far as I know, as I can access it from my laptop running Vista just fine. However, I cannot get Ubuntu to see it at all. I'm sure its probably something very simple that I am overlooking but I cannot seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think so. I had to go into the smb.conf file on Ubuntu to change workgroup to MSHOME. If there was something else that I was supposed to do please let me know.

I just go under Place>Network and it shows up....do you have anything set up to share on the Server? You say the Server doesn't show up under Network Places? Yes, you will need to 'join' the workgroup.

Ok how do I 'join' the workgroup? I have some of the shared folders setup with user permissions for windows and some without just for testing.

Sorry, I am a Linux noob and was barely able to get my server up and running.
