I've been fiddling around with various Linus distros and have tried a few ones (Ubuntu, Mint and now openSuse). First I installed Ubuntu and later I tried Mint. I formatted my Linux-dedicated partition within the Mint Installation Program and everything was fine. Now I've installed openSuse and formatted the partition using the openSuse Installation program. openSuse installed without any problems but when I wanted to reboot to get into vista I couldn't. Seems the Vista MBR is damaged. I was presented with the following options in the boot menu:
1: openSuse
2: Windows 1
3: Windows 2
4: openSuse (safe-mode or something like that)
I tried bot Windows options but nothing happened. I can boot into Linux without any problems. I can probably recover or re.write the MBR with the Vista Installation DVD but thats where the problem is. Right now I'm at my parents house due to Christmas and I don't have my Vista DVD with me.
Is it possible to download an ISO file of the different boot programs such as "FixMBR" and "FixBoot" ? Or can I fix the MBR within Linux as I can't get into Vista at all ?
Direct link would be appreciated![]()

Of course, you need to repair the MBR. Depending on which kind you're using (either GRUB or LILO) google how to restore/edit (it may have commented something out) it.

I actually figured out how to do it... openSuse has a Boot Loader configuration tool which was able to re-write the MBR. So now everything work again
Cheers,
Vista won't boot after installing openSuse
