Hello,
ACPI as most of you know stands for Advanced Configuration & Power Interface
http://www.intel.com/technology/iapc/acpi/
I heard that IBM is the best laptops when it comes to ACPI.
My Toshiba, and Acer laptops are too bad when it comes to it.
Could you please share your Unix/Linux feed back about the ACPI in your mobile pc?

You heard correctly. IBM is typically pretty decent (though not always), and my Compal doesn't have too many problems. It still boots and seems to perform correctly. This is one of the better resources: http://www.linux-laptop.net/

IBM are generally the best. My Dell has a few hiccups (like having to install modules to get the fans running). Check out the places Pitabred suggested and check any potential models there.

HP has very good support, they have a list on their website were compatible distros and notebooks are listed. This is not surprising though since HP co developed ACPI.

Could you please list these notebooks? my next notebook buy would be HP

Find a few notebook you might purchase, and look them up on http://www.linux-laptop.net/ to see how compatible it is.

A quote from the HP websight
HP also has a fully supported notebook PC that comes preinstalled with SUSE Linux, the HP Compaq nx5000 .
There are other notebooks but they are not fully supported. basically all of the business class notebooks. Try searching the HP website for more info. Also check out http://www.linux-laptop.net/ for more detailed info.
What is the best brand offers standard ACPI?
