...Dell's Inspiron 1520 or the Sager NP2090? Both are very similar, both have Nvidia graphics cards, both have wireless-N+turbomemory+bluetooth which probably don't have Linux drivers yet. Does it matter? I plan on dual booting Ubuntu with Vista Premium.

As you noticed, the two machines have very similar hardware. Note that as of now, Dell is not supporting Ubuntu on the 1520. Then again Sager does not provide support for Ubuntu on any of their machines. However, there's this handy page I put together that explains how to install Ubuntu on a Sager NP2090 (aka Compal IFL90) and get as much of the hardware working as possible. Truth be told, it could probably be used to fix some issues on the 1520.

By the way, using my procedure, you can use the 4965agn wireless chipset (which I've used only on 802.11g networks) and you can use bluetooth. (BT works but I've not done anything special with it yet.)

Edit: Actually, I've now been able to sync my Treo 650 to my Sager using BT. Yay!
