Hey guys I am interested in trying ubuntu out again. I loved it the first time I used it. I used wubi to dual boot 9.04 with vista. That was a while ago and I have stopped using it since then.

I have recently gotten an Asus EEE pc with windows xp on it that runs wonderfully. I was wondering if I used wubi to install ubuntu 9.10 (not netbook edition, I don't like netbook edition) how well does that run on a netbook? I'm not as serious about putting ubuntu on my netbook as I am about putting it onto my asus g50.

My main questions come when I am trying to use wubi with winodws 7. Does wubi work fine installing and uninstalling ubuntu on windows 7? Do I have to install ubuntu on my C: drive where windows is? Or can I install it on one of my empty spots like my E: or F: or D: ? (I have 2 250 gig HDs in the pc and they are broken up into four letters or whatever, C: is almost full and I don't want to install ubuntu on it, Can I install it on one of the empty ones?). Can I access my windows files in ubuntu such as music, videos, pictures?

    Thanks for your help

wouldn't it be a perfect world if steam ran on ubuntu without problems.....

you don't have to install ubuntu on your C: drive if you don't like..u could dual boot..but that depends on you..or you could have windows on 1 hd and ubuntu on the other...I have ubuntu on a 320GB External HD...
yes you can access your windows files in ubuntu...
you have your ubuntu Filesystem, and then it also shows your HD(s) as a seperate filesystem. you just have to mount your HD you want to access..by right clicking and then Mount. i've copied plenty of pictures/music/vids that way.
as far as steam i've never really had any problems..
If you don't want to put ubuntu on your C drive i suggest just using the other one.
also here is the Wubi site for any other info you may want on that.

I recently tried out a Wubi 9.10 install on my Eee PC 1000HA and it ran OK. Everything worked out of the box and performance seemed to be about on par with XP, especially after I disabled desktop effects.
