Does anyone know how to get the X220 mobile integrated broadband working on Linux (Fedora 15 or Ubuntu 11). I used windows to activate the device (at the verizon store) so I know that it works but I can't seem to get it working with Linux. The network manager does not display any 'mobile broadband' devices.

Which card do you have in the X220?

Use Fedora 16. I think there was a patch in 3.0+ kernel for WWAN card.

You can start by looking here:

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/X220

On ThinkPad X220 4291, mobile broadband works out of the box. The mobile broadband module is an Ericsson F5521gw (USB vendor/product ID 0bdb:1911).

Other ThinkPad X220 models have the Gobi 3000 mobile broadband module which has been reported not to work out of the box. However, open source drivers appear to be available here.

As stated, Fedora 15 is an old release. There is most likely a fix in the latest release, Fedora 16. Also, did you try Ubuntu 11.10 or 11.04? Those last two numbers are very important, as they show which month it was released.
