hey guys.
i was wondering if this particular guide is the best way to install compiz fusion in ubuntu 7.04 feisty fawn.
http://kevin.vanzonneveld.net/techblog/article/enable_compizfusion_in_ubuntu_feisty/
the directions are super straightforward and it seems like a no-brainer using it, but some of the comments on that page talk about how this program "envy" (which installs ati/nvidia drivers) is really bad and dont use it.
the instructions here ( http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=481314) off the ubuntu website is not as specific, and im having a lot of trouble figuring out how to isntall repositories and other stuff.
so on a relatively new computer, are teh instructions in the first link ok for installing compiz fusion?

i used the 2nd link you provided and it worked for me.

just do exactly what it saids. -
Envy did not wreck my system... but then again I know what I'm doing.
Unfortunately, opinions are a dime a dozen. If only they were substantiated... then maybe they'd be believable. "It wrecked my system" does not tell you what kind of harebrained thing the poster my have been trying to do. Easy to blame the software; harder to find fault in oneself.
best way to install compiz fusion?
