This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     brightness erratic

    The brightness controls (lenovo R61i, openSUSE 11) are very erratic.
    When I press the up (Fn+Home) it may go up or down and vice versa with down (Fn + End).
    Does any one have any suggestions?
    I know I can install the Gnome "Brightness Applet" and it works fine but I would rather have the buttons work correctly.
