i just don't have internet access on the pc that i want to run ndiswrapper on... the only way i can get access to the internet for normal linux stuff (like downloading ndiswrapper) is to get the wifi working...

    you see the dilemna?

i just want to know if i can download the files on a different computer and run them on linux, and if there is a step by step for the wmp54g pci wifi card, that would be a bonus.

You could download the ndiswrapper source code on another computer, transfer it to your pc, then compile and install it yourself. It's not as difficult as it sounds.

If you untar the source you should find a text file called INSTALL with instructions in it. If you need help post back here.

Also, it would really help if you tell us what distro you're using.

The reason i suggestion package depend distro might be easy cause might not have tool or compiler installed to build it

    Good point.

In either case, a Wired connection would be the most logical way to go. I find it hard to believe that a notebook can be without a wired ethernet adapter.
