There's a few in my Ubuntu guide, more to come, not all of them are for othr distros.
The truth is, linux doesn't need much tweaking.

Not sure I agree with that, Thomas. Every distro I've used so far has required me to fool a bit with resolution/icons/fonts, etc. Some require a lot of effort to get wireless working correctly (if at all). Some (Gentoo 2008, for example LOL) are very difficult (for me, at least) to install, even without dual-booting. Another frequent issue seems to be sound. Have you tried Suse? If so, did you get sound to work properly?

yeah, for me linux is all about the tweaking, however ive never written anything down as i only tweak when i need to (most of the tweaks in linux arent for the general public to use, they are more machine specific imo)

There are a couple of tweaks you can make to Ubuntu (don't know about other distros):
    - boot profiling
    - concurrent booting
    - adjusting kernel's use of the swap file
    - turning on DMA
    - installing preload (caching program)
    - installing prelink
    - turning off unnecessary services such as Bluetooth

Just Google search "ubuntu performance" or "ubuntu tweaking"

I was going to recommend ubuntuguide.org but when I try to navigate to it with ffb35, it ironically crashes X.
