The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    dual boot linux and xp

    I dunno i just used the lastest one from Unbuntu website. But yea I guess ill reformat and try again or should I not....

    You don't need to reformat if you have the windows CD handy you can just start the installer and select recovery mode and go to the command prompt, and run bootrec /fixboot

    Then if you want to recover the space from the linux partitions you can use a partitioning utility to delete the linux partitions and then resize your windows partiton.

    didn't work for me
    i tried every single suggestion by microsoft
    when nothing worked i was really mad so i deleted my linux and my windows partitions an reformatted
