The acclaimed eeebuntu project just broadened itself into Aurora. It's basically a distro aimed aimed, not just at eeepcs, but netbooks and laptops more generally.
You might like that they've moved from Ubuntu to a rolling release based on Debian which really speeds things up. The jupiter power management and throttling is nice too.
The first release will be gnome-based unfortunately. I'd rather see xfce or lxde.
It seems like an interesting option to keep an eye on.![]()

Yeah, I checked this out a while ago, it looks like it will be nice, however, unlike you, I'm quite glad they went the Gnome route, even though I consider KDE superior.

I wonder if they are going gnome so that they can piggy back off of the implementation of gnome in ubuntu netbook remix. I would think that there is a market for a lighter netbook implementation of xfce or lxde.
