hi all. im trying to resurrect my old dell desktop as a linux machine but when i did the live CD the wireless card would not work. it is an edimax wireless card and i was wondering if there were any hacks that i could use to get it to work because i havent used linux in months and i miss it. :(
do you think it might work after i did a clean install?

It probably won't work without manually installing the proper driver. The good news is that this chipset is supported under Linux with this driver project. There are instructions for installing it under Ubuntu here and here, and Mepis installation instructions here. And ndiswrapper can utilize the windows drivers under Linux too.

    Good Luck.
