ive tried reinstalling the OS a few times, using ubuntu 8.10. in some cases ive had the boot disk able to fix the x server, but the last few times it did nothing so i dont want to try it again unless i know whats going on.
ive read the launchpad for the z590. i know to switch the graphics seems to require a dual boot with windows xp, but does that mean i have to have it to run the 9300 initially properly at all? any help would be most appreciated. thanks.

actually any help or links on how anyone has gotten anything to work on the z would be appreciated. im just hoping i dont have to build a whole kernel for some basic things...
