Is it possible to download linux apps and other things on some other computer and then install it manually on linux fedora core 7? Will it be way more steeper for a newbie?

SSH + Yum, most sites have their own instructions anyways.

If I'm not mistaken, SSH allows you to securely and remotely control another computer. Yum is Fedora's package manager I think. But if you just want to download the files and put them on a USB drive and bring it over to the Fedora machine, you can definitely install it that way too

Yum probably works like apt-get, which means it has a repository of packages that it downloads. You can copy those downloaded files over to the other machine and update that way, if that's what you're talking about. That way you only have to download the actual packages once.
