is it possible to install and use ubunt on my MacBook? If so, and if not uubuntu, what is the best distro that works with mac and mac hardware and laptops. Thanks

it should be almost relatively pain-free because macbooks only come in so many configs (unlike PCs)

The Macbook is actually one of the best notebooks for running Linux available, as long as you get past the whole EFI and OS X dual-boot issue. But nearly all the hardware (including Bluetooth, webcam, wireless, etc) is supported by open-source drivers.

Aside from installing it as a boot up OS, you can run nearly any dist. of Linux through Parallels(I think VMware Fusion supports it too, but I don't know for sure).

I remember reading something about a Slackintosh distro... Might be worth checking out, but since I don't have a Mac, I didn't feel the need to try that one.
