Yeah, on Windows type %APPDATA% in a run box(winkey + r), find the "Mozilla" folder, and copy it somewhere.

On the Mint system, open up the home directory and copy the "Mozilla" folder from earlier into it. Then press ctrl + h and find the ".mozilla" directory, delete it. Then rename the "Mozilla" folder to ".mozilla". No quotes anywhere.

Also, check out the xmarks extension. It lets you keep bookmarks and optionally usernames/passwords synchronized between computers, and access them through their website.

Some addons will only run on Windows. I'm not sure what FF would do with Windows only addons "installed" on Linux. Obviously they won't run, but I'm not sure how FF will react (ignore? crash?). Just something to keep in mind if you have installed any addons (extensions & plugins - themes are safe).

bookmarks.html was deprecated in v3.0, I believe. Bookmarks are stored in SQL database: places.sqlite.

U can still export to html from bookmarks manager. The default export option is now JSON if I remember correctly.

    Good to know.

I'm lazy: I just copy the sqlite files and key3.db. :)

Thanks-will this migrate passwords and url entries and such too?

Also, is there a way to migrate a profile of Thunderbird to Linux as well?

It would disable them, just like upgrading to a new version of firefox with addons that don't work for the new version.
Yeah, it would copy everything. To copy the thunderbird folder do the same thing, but in %APPDATA% look for a thunderbird folder(or something similar) and copy it to your home folder on linux, and rename it ".mozilla-thunderbird" without the quotes.
