    objectdock-type launcher for Ubuntu?

    i'm lookin for a cool little task launcher for Ubuntu, but i cant really find anything...all the links dead-end, or it shows up with a looong list of procedures that i'm not quite sure how to follow lol. anyone know of any cool docks for Ubuntu?

    try cairo dock or avant window navihator. cairo has very pleasing visuals but a larger footprint, and awn is a lightweight launcher but it lacks the eye candy.

    Cairo always performed bad for me. or you can try kiba-dock as well. it uses a physics engine to get some pretty neat effects.

    awn is the best of the bunch, applets, launchers, window list, systray...

    Avant Window Navigator works really well for me in Hardy Heron. I think it's already in your Synaptic Package Manager archive, so all you have to do is install it from there.

    I would recommend installing the bazaar version, though. It has a lot more features. There's a thread about install it in Ubuntuforums. Google "howto avant window navigator eye candy"
