I was looking to install a mac-type dock for GNOME, but i don't know how to(only been using Ubuntu for about 2 weeks) just wondering if anyone knows. Thanks.

Try awn.
Go to a terminal and type:
Code:sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator
-
thanks a bunch, i'll give it a try
-
as soon as i try to open it(from system->preferences->awn manager) it closes...
-
What? That's strange.....
Have you tried going to Applications>Accessories>Awn? -
works now, i was trying to open the wrong thing
-
Ahhhhh, I see
-
I heard AWN takes a lot of configuring to work nicely, how hard is it?
-
yeah, i can see that, i'll tinker with it, but so far i haven't got it the way i wanted
-
Not really, its pretty easy.
-
i meant more of something like this:

it seems AWN just shows currently open apps -
Get the exra's pack; the 'appletts' make the Dock far more functinal. Official site:

what do you do after you download the file? i can't figure out how to change the directory..i'm not great at using the terminal
-
