hi, i have realtek 8187b wifi card, running dual boot vista and jaunty.. this problem happend to me also on hardy..
PROBLEM:
when i connect to the internet in ubuntu with network manager, surfing net, doing basic things everything runs ok.. then i reboot computer and choose Vista to start, i cant connect to the internet in VISTA, all what i can see are the networks around, cant connect at all!! just like something is blocked in wifi card, only thing that helps is to shut down computer, then power it on again.. any idea where should be a problem??
i tried Wicd but that had also problem while shutting down computer, it comes with an error and Wicd didnt want to shut down.. anyway, i would like to use netwrok manager.. thanks

Interesting. Is there a hardware switch on your laptop? Does switching it on and off there make it work under Vista? Are there any updated drivers for your card under Vista?

yep, there is a hardware switch on laptop for wifi, but no success turning it off and on.. i updated the latest driver for wifi and now, sometimes it works sometimes not... even, when i reboot from ubuntu into vista an error comes up - Process rundll32 stopped working or something like that!! but after that, when the error shows, wifi card is working... when the rundll32 error is not there, wifi is not working..
EDIT: OK, it seems that my problem with wifi is solved - i had to install a package linux-backport-modules-jaunty.. BUT now my sound is not working properly(
