    usb webcam, which serial port to use?

    i'm using this webcam program and it's asking me to input the serial port of the webcam. lsusb gives me : "Bus 003 Device 003: ID 046d:08b2 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Pro 4000". what is the serial port?

    it's called CMUCam2. It provides motion sensing and blob tracking. it's a java program, not from the repos

    CMUCam2 seems to be a program to interface with a proprietary camera. Where did you get the idea that the software would work with your QuickCam?

    if, by serial port, you mean usb port, then lsusb shows you. if, by serial port, you indeed meant serial port, then the application will require you to use a db9 to usb adaptor for your com ports.
