    vista activation in virtual environment

    Anyone succeeded activation Vista Ultimate in a Linux host? As I understand the license I'm allowed to do so. I tried a installation and extracted the key of the preinstalled Vista with ABR. But I can not transfer it to a fresh installed one of an Anytime Upgrade. The activation always fails. ABR succeeds but windows is still counting days down. And manual installation of the ABR key gives a 0xC004C003 error.

    Do you have some hints?

    call up the microsoft number that they supply. they should be able to manually activate it for you if it fails online.

    I activated it via the automatic phone system with the product key under the laptop. I only hope I can run both installations (virtual and real) without hassle. But will report it here for others.

    BTW: Anybody knows how someone would install Vista Ultimate in a virtual with the preconfigured OEM images which I got from IBM?
