    Hi all,
I decided that it was time to go just Linux on my lappy.
So I went out and got me a new 250 GB hard drive and installed openSUSE 11.
The drive I took out was a dual boot Vista and Gutsy(64 bit).
The install went just fine and almost everything is just about working BUT the volume coming from the speakers is just about audible. I have the volume as high as it can go and I can barely hear it. In Ubuntu it was much much louder.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

Right click the volume icon, go to volume control and turn (I think it was) PCM all the way up, It might have been something else though.

Also make sure the 'front' sliders are pushed all the way up. I had to do that in SUSE.

Yeah, that's the same thing that happened to me when I first started out with Ubuntu, it even happened to me in Mint.
