    wifi not working for fedora 12

    i have lenovo g550 series laptop .i have installed fedora 12 on it.It is unable to detect wifi .earlier when i was using windows 7 wifi was working properly..i have also tried suse but the problem persists..now when i am using both windows 7 and fedora 12 wifi is working on win 7 but not on fedora 12.

    A few web searches indicate that it probably has a Broadcom wifi chip.

    If you want to stay with Fedora then the following guide could be useful.

    You could try Ubuntu and loading the restricted Broadcom STA driver, in the following link approx half way down the comments there are some tips for getting Ubuntu to install on your laptop.

    Why are you running Fedora 12? I highly suggest trying Fedora 13 or Ubuntu 10.04.

    for fedora 12 just refer to Broadcom Linux STA Driver — Fedora Unity Project
    it will definitely work...!!

    but now i have Ubuntu 10.04,
    for that goto system>administration>hardware drivers you may wait for some time,here you will see broad-com drivers...simply activate it,and it will work. :)
