    Will a Thinkpad X61 boot from a USB flash drive ("pen drive"/"thumb drive")? Specifically in Linux?

    Anybody doing it? And with what linux?

    Moved to the Linux forum, where I think you'll get more action. I don't see why it wouldn't work, though I've not done it myself.

    There's no reason it won't (My T61 does, so the X61 probably does, too), and I only use the System Rescue CD USB install since I run Linux on the machine as it's only OS. I've booted the USB key on multiple systems though, so there shouldn't be a problem.

    Almost all distros any more have a way to install to a USB key, you'll just have to google to figure out how.
