wireless in openSUSE 11

Hi:
I have an Encore ENLWI-G2 wireless PCI adapter and I don't seem to be able to get to work. I tried manually to connect, see below:

does it work without the key? i.e. turn off security and try it out

 

I don't know why this worked but on a suggestion from the openSUSE forum I reinstalled the kernel through Yast and what do you know it works:
