I had that problem, I fixed it by disabling Bandwidth Control in the Killer Network Manager.

I'm connected with WiFi.
I try to disabling Bandwith Control...
Another point, I've upgraded the latest BIOS : E1812IMS.10C
What is EC Firmware ? I need to upgrade it ?
EDIT : Bandwith Control disabled, but I have some pic at 8000µs , other bars are yellow (1000µs)

Can you please post your result with DPC Latency ?
I see on the Internet that Windows 8 have some real time and audio (cracking) issues... -
Hi guys, I just found a gt80 SLI-009 on Craigslist for $3000, do you think I got a good deal? I went ahead with the purchase.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Why ask if you went ahead anyway?
But regardless it depends on the warranty and condition of the unit and how much you trust the seller.

I can confirm that the Pelican 1495 Laptop case just fits the titan!
Without a doubt the toughest most durable protection possible. I had to cut the foam insert quite a bit to make room and theres no space for anything else.
But....now im secure knowing I can put this in the ocean, or drop it from a helicopter(if need be)
The backpack is nice but not real protection
Case comes with combination passlock...and it's heavy. But once the titan is inside...a car could run over it and itd be just fine.

So, regarding the current GT80 updates on the website, for BIOS, EC firmware and Vbios:
Anyone know what the vbios update does?
Anyone lucky enough to install the EC firmware? It doesn't work for me, neither the winflash utility nor the bat, that summons the winflash util. -
Regarding the EC Firmware update (above): ditto. No joy.
-
I've found a solution !
I followed this guide : https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=178064.0
And now I have some pics, but no performance issue.
Moreover, when I use HWMonitor, the latency increase ! So I don't use it in game
Thanks guys for your help
-
I did see a lower base frequency with the new vbios but no perf change either way plugged into the wall. Seeing this change makes me think it might only affect on bat usage.
mentioned on post #1361Last edited: Apr 16, 2015 -
Beware!
-
That's not a solution at all!
You've paid for the software when you've choosen the Killer special features. There's nothing special on the hardware side.
Removing what makes it better than a regular NIC completely defeats the purpose.
I would be very mad about this total lack of respect. -
I can confirm that your new vBIOS is now also OC-blocked for any driver other than 347.88 & 347.90.
-
Ah damm, well good thing I didn't flash.
Not that it matters, once I flash prema's vbios

That was old news which had already been resolved. -
The vBIOS fixed a bug of not able to run DOS commend to create RAID configuration under WinPE environment. It was confirmed by nVidia that the vBIOS was the cause of the issue.Kevin@GenTechPC likes this.

Thanks Ken
So in the end it was a fix, and hopefully it will be unlocked for future drivers overclocking
-
This is very helpful. I never messed with mine because I don't seem to have any particular issue, but that may be because I haven't been paying attention and I probably need to try this too!

anyone? -
It's on the msi website under support for the gt80.
-
Finally! \o/
Have you got already?

Since that won't go in the gt80 seems a bit odd to ask about it here.
-
Curious question, does this laptop allow for disabling of SLI if you want to game on something that doesn't require SLI for great performance? (And what are the temps of the laptop (CPU and GPU) if you were to do that?
-
Yes you can disable SLi in nvidia panel
-
Yes as said above, I believe temps all around will be lower as the primary card runs cooler and there will be less heat soak but I will post some numbers in the test and tune thread later today.
-
-=$tR|k3r=- Notebook Virtuoso
A few things here......
1.) GPU temps are good, and this should not be a concern in the GT80.
2.) CPU temps generally run warmer in SLI notebooks.
3.) It is the GT80 models equipped with the 4980HQ CPU, that are running a bit warm during stress testing and benchmarks..... but this should not be so much a problem in normal usage.
4.) Though SLI can be disabled in the NVidia Control Panel, the CPU temp is not so high or problematic, that there is a real NEED for doing this. Again, this is in consideration of normal usage and gaming.
-
Thanks, understood. Its just when playing certain games (l4d2, or any source engine, or blizzard game) I would imagine disabling SLI would be a good choice to reduce temps since they aren't needed as a single gtx 980m can handle great frame rates even at higher resolutions (1440p+). Also, is it only the 4980hq running warm? How about the 4720hq?
How about frame times and microstutter? That was another thing I was on the fence for. I recently purchased a g751jy (haven't used laptops in a long time) and however awesome it is, it feels a bit awkward using the laptop keyboard to play any kind of FPS for me so I may return it (or just try to get myself used to it) and get this instead so it'll at least mimic my desktop.
Thanks!
Great! Looking forward to your findings! -
This is my 009 with sli disabled at stock clocks and 72deg room temp as shown in the test and tune thread.

If any of those games supports SLI, your temps will actually be slower with sli, because you need to work less to get better performance. If you target 60fps and vsyng, you will always run cool, at least up to current games.
Since I run 96fps vsync, some games can push the system a bit more than others, and in such cases, I can see my CPU temps in the 80s. Otherwise, everything stays cool. -
-=$tR|k3r=- Notebook Virtuoso
Yeah, I am saying, I do not believe you will have a 'need' to go with a single GPU, due to CPU temps.... and yes, the 4720HQ temps are moderately better. As to micro-stutter, SLI has significantly improved, and I have not noticed this whatsoever, least in Rebellion, Origin, EA, or Activision titles I've played, and frame rates were AWESOME! Also, you'll love the GT80 keyboard..... definitely a departure from most notebook keyboards.
-
Guys I've ordered the Titan in 4720hq spec.

Welcome aboard the GT80 titan train!
-
Tell me it's a beast? I'm looking to play Arma 3 on it, when it turns up lol
-
Thanks GTVEVO! Looks good.
-
Don't get me wrong as I play ARMA also but the game has serious issues as always, especially when in multiplayer mode. Just don't want you to expect a miracle since the GT80 is such a power house. And congrats on your purchase.
-
Has anyone ordered the 009 from Newegg or a retailer like that? If you have, could you tell us what brand and part number the default ssd msata2's are?
-
Yes I ordered both of mine from newegg , but you can't purchase the same ssd part number as it's built for msi. I learned this because I couldn't make a warranty clam for one without going through msi.
-
Any idea who makes them? I've heard they're Kingston.
-
Yes they are made by knigston
-
Thanks. Maybe I'll just make 2 raid 0 arrays.
Can't wait for Monday! -
That's exactly what I did with two 500gb m.2 ssds and no regrets
-
I'm not sure of that. From the NVMe specifications there's no reason why a NVMe (PCIe x4) drive won't work with the GT80.
I don't know how MSI wired those M.2 slots and perhaps the SM951-NVMe may be bottlenecked by DMI.
If you guys test it please let me know!
-
-=$tR|k3r=- Notebook Virtuoso
Mine are Kingston, but it's based on supply, and hardware brands are always subject to change. To give you an idea, first runs of the GT72 appeared with Sandisk SSD's, then Toshiba, and later Kingston.
I think we will need to see future chipset and IRST support, before we see PCIe x4, and I think it doubtful in the GT80...... but I am hoping the next flagship perhaps....... maybe a GT82?
One can dream, I suppose.....

We need a mobile chipset with way more PCIe lane support. Right now we are on x8 for the SLI GPUs, so we need an "extreme"chipset with 40x lanes to use NVe and dual GPUs at full speed plus more IO etc.

The GT80 uses sata based m.2 drives only.
