I know I am asking too much but the new Dell area 51M made me confused between these 2 machines,
The Gt75 with 8950hk, 128gb ram ( will start with 64GB and then add the other 2 when prices go down ), 5x 2tb Samsung 970 evo, 4Tb evo 860 and the RTX 2080
And
The area M51 with 9900k, 128gb ram ( will start with 1 32GB then add more later ), 2x 2tb 970 evo, 4Tb evo 860 and the RTX 2080
Which one should I go for?
Thank you in advance

mate you read the specs on the msi.com product side for the GT75? 2 of 5 M.2 Slots are reserved for Intel M.2 SSD only.

I’m not sure yet but on gentechpc, it allows me to build one with 5 970 evo. -

the area 51m is not out yeat, so it is probably best to wait and see what the thermals and performance is like.

I think will order one from dell and try it first but you think ( 9900k, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd + 1tb and the RTX 2080 ) worth $3675?Vistar Shook likes this. -

Since it is a new model it does have a premium, but if it performs well with great cooling then sure. The MSI we already know what the cooling is like, so the the AW has to be at least similar, hopefully better because of the desktop CPU.ryzeki and nader_rizk2003 like this. -
As much as I like desktop components, the 9900K is just way too hot to properly cool off, and I would be pissed by having a very limited clockspeed for an otherwise unlocked, super strong processor. If possible I might even go with a 8700.
I would be interested in a battle between both machines, to see how much the CPU really affects gaming once you are 6core/12 threads vs 8/16. I like the design of the GT75 better imo.nader_rizk2003 and Vistar Shook like this. -
Arm chair critics .....
There are only 3x M.2 slots and 1x 2.5" SATA bay in my GT75 8th Gen.
Where do you see 5 slots?!
Have you even done a google picture search?!
Or a YouTube search?!

i owned the gt75 as well but i am talking about the new generation with the RTX 2080.
and the reference above from MSI manual.
you own the old gt75 version. -
GT75 with 8th gen and GTX 1080? Then yes 3 M.2 Slots.
On the MSI global Page are the specs for the 2019 Model and there are 5 M.2 Slots but 2 of 5 are for Intel SSD only.
What ever the reasons are we will know it soon

Intel RAID 0 + 3x M.2's?
This new gen? ... I'm liking mine better every day.nader_rizk2003 likes this. -
I do find the specific intel m.2 ports a bit weird. Does that mean Optane/nmve intel only?

i asked the msi support in germany and the answer was you need to ask someone from intel.
the current situation is that the two ports will only support intel nvme ssds or optane and they have no information so far what the reason is.
my first thought was intel need a reason that we customers buy optane/nvme ssds.
or maybe msi super raid 4 with an Intel super raid

It's possible (restriction by BIOS) or not possible (PCIe direct connectivity), we definitely have to try when it's available as AU4U stated.nader_rizk2003 and ryzeki like this. -
Looks interesting. No mechanical keyboard however and no 18" screen.
Not enough to get me to upgrade from my GT80 SLI which does everything I want.
Not even GT83 is a big enough leap. If they upgraded the screen and added another M.2 SSD slot, I would be interested.
