Are there any windows programs that can override the bios fan profile and control fan speed? If so, any that allow for creating a fan profile based on gpu temperature? I recently installed a 7970m in my msi 1761, but bios cannot read the gpu temp for its fan profile. I don't really like using turbo fan all the time.

    Much appreciated.

I think MSI-Afterburner may do that, don't hold me to it though.

It does that too. It's a fan curve select program.

    Kakashisensei has a GT780DX with the 7970m.
That combo doesn't bode well regarding auto fan speed. Pherein's tool works but in a manual way. The problem lays in the 7970m core's temp not detected by the notebook's EC so when the gpu gets hot the fan doesn't speed up. I had to deal with that too on my previous setup. It affects only Clevo 7970m cards however..

From what I've gathered it seem so. At least people with Dell cards were reporting that it worked in their systems. I tried both the original 015.019 Clevo vbios and the Dell 015.017 but nope, no hope on getting it to work. Turbofan remained my last and only solution :(
