Hello~ world. Hi from Korea. This is my first time ever using MSI laptop.
I just purchased GS63VR 7RF and waiting for the shipping. I can't wait to use it.

Anyway, like we all know, MSI GS63VR seems to have a huge and heavy power adapter.
So I wonder if any of you ever used a lighter and slimmer power adapter.

For last 3 years, I've been using Gigabyte P34G V2 model. I'm using it almost as desktop.
It's still great laptop. It is very light (still one of lightest model with GTX graphic chipset.
It weighs only 1.6kg) and very powerful. You can play most of 3d game with high option.

P34G has GTX860M graphic core and the authentic power supply is 150w (19.5v 7.9A)
But for mobile use, I used a very slim (but quite reliable) 90w adapter. (19v 4.7a)
I use it everyday. I try not to use it with long and heavy use (such as really heavy 3d games)

But hours of ordinary usage has no problem. It worked and recharged fine.

But this GS63VR is 180w and It's double. I think it will work but still little bit worried.
So I wonder if any of you has experience using good and lighter power adapter.
Anything will be appreciated. URL to the product will be even more thankful.

Thanks guys and enjoy your mobile life~

Your 90W adapter likely won't work with a different OEM's machine - the jacks and the internals of the PSU/power delivery might have issues.

    Like I said, it worked fine with my current machine. P34G V2 (i7-4700HQ / 16GB RAM / GTX860)
MSI and Gigabyte use same size of tip 5.5mm x 2.5mm on many laptops
And my 90w power supply has same size : external is 5.5mm internal is 2.5mm.

P34G V2 requires 150w but my 90w was working fine without a problem.
But this time, GS36VR is 180w. It's double to 90w, So I'm little bit worried if there may be a problem.
I hope it works just as the old one. :)
    Thanks though~

Will firmware recognize it though? That's the question - I've seen one or two machines where firmware wouldn't allow knock-off adapters to be used when the original got lost. It's rare but it exists.
