    Im finally getting my MS-1036 Tomorrow from Rawpowerpc.com and im excited as hell! The specs are as follows.


    Turion MT-40 2.2GHz 25W - 1MB Cache
    2GB DDR 400 - 2 x 1GB
    100GB 7200RPM HD - 8MB Cache
    MSI 802.11b/g + Bluetooth
    ATI Mobility Radeon x700 w/ 256MB VRAM
    17" TFT WSXGA+ (Glare Type 1680x1050) w/ 1.3MP Camera
    Dual Layer/Format DVD Burner

    and the rest of the fun stuff on the 1036.

    Paying about 2k for it all. Decent machine my friends?

    Some will argue you could have had a Dell with better game performance. I chose mine mainly for 64 bit, decent game performance, and good looks IMO :D .

    So you think i should get a dell? wich one? i want a gameing laptop. what dell would be better for 2k?

    No dell is faster AT THIS MOMENT for under $2000. That's a fine setup, no reason why it couldn't play any games. Just wondering why you didnt wait for the 1039, but that's still a good laptop. Don't worry. That one will be great.

    i checked. isnt the dell E1705 with the ATI Mobility x1400 and a core duo 2.0ghtz with 2 gigs of ddr2 667mhtz ram .. the same price after coupon. thats not faster?

    Eh, it's a bit faster yes. If you could wait until the MSI 1039 comes out, i dont know how much it will be, but it's dual core, and has an x1600 video card.

    Im buying a dell with the above config. I figure its a better deal and they threw in a free tv tunner.

    The x1400 video card is not as good as the x1600 at all, or the x700 for that matter, just to let you know.

    Oh really? it isnt? well to late. placed the order eailer today. I would think the x1400 would be better then the x700.

    Yeah, the way ATI labels their vid cards is not intuitive at all! :rolleyes: Here's a great post I found useful on this site for comparing cards. The 1400 is middle of the road and the 700 and 800 are better. The 1600 is more of a successor to the 700 and 800 than the 1400. I'm a noob and I found the post really helpful.
