It is a sad day, the realization has finally hit me that my beloved GT725 isn't as fantastic as I thought it was, and is in fact... dying...
Its a weird problem, it'll start doing this non-stop all day, then may go a week without doing it.
At first I thought for some reason it was something to do with software, as it would only happen when I had 2 ie tabs open and my cad program, so I reformatted, and we were all sweet for 2 weeks solid.
But its just getting worse and worse, until now, I have to say, my GT725 is finally dead.

Obviously its video card related, no one would happen to have a 4850 lying around?

$200 shipped:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/computer-components/517685-fs-ati-4850-mxm-video-card-1gb.html
You could also try an FX 3700m (new for $200 + shipping):

By the way, if you're going to sell your dead card, I might be interested (would like to play around with an ati card). -
Thanks mate! Noted my interest in the first thread, if thats unavailable I'll look into the second one.
Noticed you're from AUS as well, where abouts exactly? -

I'm in Canberra.
I actually got my 3700m from ebay, I think I made an offer of $150US (can't remember now). Though I have still seen a few on ebay under $200. -
That's sad when a card dies.
Have you tried the baking trick? -
notebookparts is currently out of stock of the fx 3700m don't purchase till you call and find out for sure they have it in stock again. I purchased one only to find out they where gonna try and make me wait 10 days, before they knew if they could even get them. Needless to say I canceled my order.

that is definetly corrupted video memory. This can happen when temps are to high for to many times, overclocking to strong, etc...Im no expert but Iv had my fair share of artifact glitches and dealing with them over spans of years. Seems video cards heal them selves some times some how, weather you can find software that can do it or other ways like new drivers, sometimes they come back all on there own but its a waste of time and if you can get newer componenets theres no reason to have to go through the torture of finding exatly whats wrong with your card and repairing it.

Nice I'm in Newcastle...
Still waiting to hear back about the 4850, that would be the ideal purchase.
Baking trick? Please tell
!
Damn will steer clear of that then.
I keep the temps in check, at work which is the only place i use it it never rises above 55 degrees, and I have only auto overclocked the card once and run one benchmark thats it, and that was a year ago...
I have obviously tried new drivers, tried reformatting then new drivers, nothing... -
