For any of you who have the Chi Mei N173HHE-G32 screen (120hz/3ms/FHD/120hz), here is the Spyder5Elite+ calibrated Profile. Spyder5Elite+ offers better white point, gamma, luminance, and advanced Screen Uniformity
Download Chi Mei N173HHE-G32 Spyder5Pro Calibration Profile (Low)
Download Chi Mei N173HHE-G32 Spyder5Pro Calibration Profile (Medium)
Download Chi Mei N173HHE-G32 Spyder5Pro Calibration Profile (High)
The difference between the above profiles (low, medium, high) is the brightness level. So depending on the light in your room, choose the profile accordingly. (ie. if you're at night with low room light, then load the low profile)
Download Chi Mei N173HHE-G32 Spyder5Pro Calibration Profile

Do not install MSI True Color if you want to use the above screen calibration profile or uninstall it first then reboot if you have it already installed

Here are how the Spyder5Pro App set the options in Control Panel / Color Management (ignore the model displayed that's from my previous laptop's screen, the final should be Chi Mei N173HHE-G32-1_high in our case)

Now, click on the Change system defaults button on the bottom right of the Advanced tab.

Then head over to the Advanced tab again in the new Window that popped out and check the box at the bottom which says: " Use Windows display calibration" and you will see the changes in color immediately when you do that.

All I know is that my MSI GT73VR Titan Pro which I had last year and this MSI GT75 Titan have the same exact screen / specs.
Here's what it shows in AIDA64:

Just upgraded my Spyder5Pro to Spyder5Elite+ which offers better white point, gamma, luminance, and advanced Screen Uniformity
Check the OP for the new download links. Now there are three profiles for this monitor, low, medium, and high.
The difference between them is the brightness level. So depending on the light in your room, choose the profile accordingly. (ie. if you're at night with low room light, then load the low profile)Last edited: Jul 29, 2018 -

Damn guys, I just disabled the calibration just to see how the screen looks without it, it looks like pure garbage, the screen is so bluish and white as if it's pale. This color profile brings out the color very naturally and is much pleasing on the eyes.

Thank you for this. What a big improvement! Didn't realize the screen was so bad until i applied this profile.

Hi All. Has anyone used the color calibration profile that is provided by HIDEvolution? Is that not good enough? I am using theirs.

My laptop screen looks a whole lot yellowish after applying this High profile. I am not sure if this is how it is supposed to look. I matched all the steps provided. I realized it happens when I click on "User Windows display calibration".

I was googling this monitor and it's reported as G-Sync? But my computer isn't G-Sync? I've got a GE72MCR 7RG Apache Pro :s
-
Your device is using Nvidia Optimus.
With Optimus your gtx will only be activated when you playing games or using programs which are needed the gtx.
most of the time your device will work with the igpu from intel. and intel is not supporting g-sync. -

Thanks for this post. Very helpful!
I have an MSI GT73VR that I got for HIDEvolution.
I paid for the color calibration.
I'm now comparing these against the one I got from HIDEvolution as well as the one build into Windows 10 called sRGB IEC61966-2.1.
Let me say I appreciate what you've done. This isn't critique but more of me trying to understand things.
Your profiles are definitely easier on the eyes, but have a noticeable red/orange hue/overlay over everything.
The one from HIDEvolution has more vibrant colors, but kind of a blueish hue.
The built-in Windows one looks good but is too bright.
I guess I'm just wondering what the consensus is on what people want. -

Thanks for posting the Profiles Phoenix , I have the same Screen in my GP73-8RE (120mhz) and I find it way too bright OOB at over 220cd/m , so I started looking around for .icc files and found your Thread but like others I also have the yellowish overtones with them, but I am unsure if you leave you Intel Graphics Properties at Defaults as far as Color and Contrast or if you adjust R_G_B individually etc 1st and then run the Profiling, as I did try doing my own and it is a bit better, but my eyes aren't liking this Panel for some reason and I am not sure if it is the Brightness or possibly the PWM of the LED at low brightness settings.
I am not used to doing this on Laptops, but use DisplayCal (worth the free Download - below) and a Xrite i1Display2 on my Desktop Monitors which are IPS and the new 32" a VA panel and it works great ( VA down to 18% brightness), but the laptop screen seems different in some regard , so I'm having a few issues with this TN Panel. I actually have to turn the laptops brightness down to 26 to reach the normal 120 cd/m, so if you have any ideas that would be great.

I've one question: why the low has very cold/bluish tune to it? what do you use?
I'm using the high profile, and compared to my calibrated screen it looks so good. I'm so overwhelmed for saving me almost a 100$!
also, do you increase Nvidia driver's Digital Vibrance? and I've noticed some games on full screen disables the profile for some reasonLast edited: Nov 15, 2018 -
Hi guys - Just thought I'd share my favourite color profile for the N173hhe-g32 - I find it more suited to my eyes and more natural. Have a look if you fancy

As far I am aware the GT72 uses the LTN173HL01-201 or LP173WF4 screenLast edited: Dec 1, 2018 -
I have the same opinion, the profiles have a noticeable red/orange hue/overlay in everything :/

Hey mates I have one question I just bought the msi gt73evr 7RE TITAN and it came with 4K screen
The N173HHE-G32 is it compatible with it?
Thank you -
It will depend on the following:
Screen size - has to be 17.3"
screw location
connector type - the N173HHE uses a 40 pin eDP connector
What I would do is compare your monitor with the N173HHE monitor using this website
http://www.panelook.com/N173HHE-G32_Innolux_17.3_LCM_overview_28924.html
Just a side note, if you have G SYNC, swapping the screen may mean you lose this, even if you swap for a screen that is G SYNC compatible
Hope this helpskolias likes this. -
I just checked it and thank you
The AUO 4K has GSYNC
The 120hz has it too? -
I have the N173 and its a great screen - viewing angles are not as good as an IPS but quite good for a TN. Colours are really nice too - I'm sure it would be an improvement over your current AHVA screen
Make sure you try a calibration profile if you buy one...this will help improve the colours overallkolias likes this. -

Always ask the seller if its the exact model advertised before bidding
Good luck
ps... its good to check the specs on panelook.com too... eg. the B173HAN03.2 is not a true 8 bit like the N173HHE.... not a big deal but may be important if your looking to do professional work with photos etcLast edited: Jan 21, 2019 -
Those profiles will work on CMN N156HHE-GA1 as well? Default colors feel pretty washed up or more toward white?

This is the color profile for your screen: Profil ICC (X-Rite i1Pro 2) -
Q. When join game ( dota ) that profile drops...dont think msi true color did that. I liked movie profile.
and it worked with game.
Thanks. -
Hi @Ultra Male
is it possible to revisit the calibration? I know you moved to a better laptop but if you still have it can you look into pixel ghosting? when I scroll down pages I can see texts blurred and ghosted (duplicated), when I disable the profile it looks normal. I know it is kinda take it or leave it type of deal... but if you have the spare time can you look into it. thanks in advance. -
