I've got a MSI GT683DX and about a 2 months ago I turned it on and the fan started up really loud and fast. There is a fan boost button on the laptop however its not on. At that stage I tried closing random programs, updated, speedfan (it doesnt seem to pick up the fan). It would go back to normally speed/sound after about 20mins but not always.

Anyway that stopped for about a month for no reason then yesterday after not using the laptop for a couple of days it started doing it again, this time it hasn't slowed down. its pretty annoying and loud.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

Hmm. Well, the low temperatures do indicate that that your heatsinks have good contact. Have you done any BIOS updates lately, or are there any other problems besides the runaway fan?

Also, what are tempatures on your GPU?

GPU is 48c. Not to sure how to install BIOS update tbh, system info says I have 2.3v but MSI live update says I've got 1.3v. Also my mistake i've got the GX660

No nothing else, it did seem to happen randomly but now it wont turn off.

Hmm. Do the other touch buttons on work? Like can you enable and disable bluetooth and wireless with the buttons?
