Hello,
I have a strange problem with my new GS65(bought last week). It's the 2060 one with 180W adapter.
When I'm playing games, it seems that the battery is slowly discharging(2-4%/hour). - leaving it aside the hot temperatures - managed to get a work-around after reading the topics - disabled cpu boost from windows.
Last night, while powered off, it lost 4% of it's battery.
I read many topics in this regard but none about the GS65.
Do you experience the same problem(is this normal behavior)?
I bought this laptop because of it's good battery considering this is a gaming laptop, as I do work related stuff on it also.
Should i return the product?
Thank you.

1. Turbo boost using battery power to increase performance.
2. System consumes power while it's off, not truly off.bogdanp likes this. -
Thank you for your reply.
Just to clarify the situation, when I said that I managed to get a workaround, I meant for the hot temperatures, not the battery drain. It still happens witihout turbo boost.Kevin@GenTechPC likes this. -
Its the MSI Battery Boost, but almost all laptops do that, some battery drain under heavy load, doesn't matter the AC wattage..

I am wondering if this will affect the battery life in the long run?Kevin@GenTechPC likes this. -

Otherwise, the battery typically can go through 500-1000 cycles with one-year warranty from the manufacturer.bogdanp likes this. -
Is it possible that battery drainage occurs only on windows?
I'm using mine for deep learning under full load 30 hours at a time and never noticed any drainage.
Always stays full when connected to the wall. -
