Hello all,
My GT60 Dominator laptop originally had the E16F4IMS.50Y BIOS & 16F4EMS1.513 EC Firmware and I had updated both of them to the latest 51A & 517, respectively, from the MSI website. The problem I've been having is that my laptop overheats on idle and my touch keys (mainly the turbo fan) don't work like they did before. I've pinpointed that updating to the 517 firmware was causing grief for my laptop. Can someone please give me or pm me the 16F4EMS1.513 firmware, or an equivalent that's older than the 16F4EMS1.517?

I can send you those files but the root cause are not these firmware. Have you tried looking into the vent and heatsink as possible root causes? Perhaps the vent needs to be cleaned, and heatsink needed fresh thermal compound. -
Hi Kevin,
Could I get that older EC firmware also? For some reason the 517 now defaults back to the 30% fan rate at idle. It was not before, but sometime after I put in the 970M this started.
On a side note the GT fan control program someone wrote, now crashes under the Windows 10, no dougt due to stricter calls to the libraries they replaced.
Thanks! -
