During playing a game the laptop froze and needed to be rebooted. About a minute after reboot the fan kicks on to high, the steel series engine says no compatible device plugged in, and the 880m is not being detected. The msi gaming center is saying the GPU is at 255c. I have tried basic stuff so far, re-seating the card, new thermal compound, re flashing the bios, and non of that worked. What else can I check out to see if I can find the problem? How would the 2 issues be related?
I don't have an issues replacing the video card if I can find on cheap enough, but I don't want to unless I know 100% that will at least fix the graphics card issue. I don't have another laptop, so I don't really have a way of testing the video card.

Falkentyne Notebook Prophet
Did you try clearing the EC?
If there is a pinhole in the back corner, unplug the laptop and press the pinhole for 30 seconds.
If there is not a pinhole, remove AC then remove the battery, press the power button for 30 seconds, then let it sit for 5 minutes, then reinsert the battery and plug it back in. -
Yes I did give this a try, I even tried re flashing the firmware. Even without the graphics card the fan still runs at high speed and the steelseries still does not see a compatible device. I contacted Xotic pc and they want 900$ to fix it. I did not like this laptop enough to want to pay that after 3 years of use. I am up for any more suggestions on things I could either try or check before it hits the recycling center.
