    Howdy all.

I'm currently looking at these two laptops. Both of which can be found for £999 at present.

    GT680R - 056UK
    i7-2630QM Quad Core Processor
    15.6" 1920 x 1080 FULL HD Screen
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    2 x 500GB HDD (think its Raid 0)
    GTX 460M 1.5GB DDR5

    or

    GT683 - 694UK
    i5-2430M Dual Core Processor
    15.6" 1366 x 768 HD Screen
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    750GB HDD
    GTX 560M 1.5GB DDR5

These are the only variations on these models that I can currently find in the UK. My initial thought is to go with the GTX560 laptop but am unsure about the HD screen. Should I be? ultimately I probably wouldnt be gaming at 1920 x 1080 anyway? If anyone owns either laptop I'd love to hear about your gaming experiences. I'm currently playing both SWTOR and Skyrim but am about to go away with work, hence the laptop requirement.

Moving up to the GT684DX-804UK would cost another £250.

    Many thanks all.

if your a gamer the 560M GPU is what you really want.

down the road you could always upgrade the display yourself

About 50 dollars for the FHD cable and 100 dollars for the FHD Display. here in North America

Then again upgrading the 460 to a 560 might not be too bad considering the resale value of the 460M.

The FHD screen is a must if your going to want to watch HD videos etc.

I have a FHD display but i set the resolution to 1366 x 768 as I find the text in some cases too small, but my Son uses it on his laptop @ 1920 - 1080 and loves it.

    I'd definitely choose first laptop.

I don't think the performance difference between the 460M and the 560M would be worth the worse CPU and the low resolution.

Appreciate the replies people, many thanks. 1 vote for each lol. Still undecided.

Edit:- After another full night of research I'm going to go for the

    GT680R - 056UK
    i7-2630QM Quad Core Processor
    15.6" 1920 x 1080 FULL HD Screen
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    2 x 500GB HDD (think its Raid 0)
    GTX 460M 1.5GB DDR5

Feel like I'm getting more for my money. Will OC the GPU for improved performance straight away. In the near future I'll look at upgrading the 460m to possibly a 570m/580m? See whats available at the time.
