I am seriously thinking of ordering the GT725-74US tonight. Seems to have the most bang for the buck in a 17" laptop right now. Any owners have any doubts about getting this laptop?

I'm probably going to order this beast this week as well (not to hijack the thread). I'd appreciate any information from owners, or perhaps words of caution.

for now i'm trying to figure out why my 5 yr old toshiba picked up my university internet just fine. was able to download at speeds of 1.5 mbps and this computer doesn't seem to.

in fact, the speeds are outright bizarre. i'm getting 40-50kbps when i would be downloading the same patch @ 1mbps on my laptop of the last 5 years.

    offnight? shrug.

lol don't mean to spam sorry.
    but it's being weaksauce again.

don't know if it is the university internet that is acting up tonight or if it is truly something w/ the laptop.

I couldn't resist and just placed my order =) So I can also let you know what I think if you are willing to wait around 3-4 days for it to arrive.

I ordered from amazon. I would have gone Newegg or Xotic, but I am trying to get my hands on the Amazon discount. Don't know if you heard, but they have the version of Windows Vista wrong on their website. The 725 comes with 32 bit, but they claim 64 bit. A few people that got the 075 model complained and got discounts up to $250 for false advertising.

Amazon has since gotten smart and changed the 075 model to say 32 bit. BUT - the 074 model still says 64 bit in it's description. So I'm gonna roll the dice and see if I can get some extra money back.

its a great laptop, however stick with the 32bit vista instead of the 64bit. some of the msi software runs in 32bit such as turbo mode. i purchased my gt725-74us with 64bit installed but i have no regrets. also, there is some bleeding on the bottom of the screen.

I have seen reports that upgrading to 64 bit does not affect the turbo button. So, your external buttons for eco and turbo do not work with the 64 bit OS?
