weird, c sates disabled is a huge hit in performance 12,867 but when enabled it's about 14,500... then again I still would have it disabled regardless. speed step was enabled, g-sync and vsync off during test.

So I played the Witcher 3 for a little over 4 hours with intel speedstep enabled and never had a problem. In fact it has improved my gameplay a lot because of the 3.1ghz CPU. Thanks Rocktaze for giving me that advice. I assumed it was a problem at first but I never actually tested it out after updating my Bios and Nvidia drivers to the latest so that was my fault. I will never put C-states on as that is one of the main route causes of the fps drop, Tested it and confirmed, Make sure C-states is off in the BIOS.

For me the best performance comes disabling C-States, enabling speedstep, and enabling in nVidia Center the V-Sync (later in each game I disable it).

Yes, I got best performances also with the same settings.
I don't use G-sync for the moment. The 1070 can handle easily any games on the market right now.

Just came across this site.. I too experiencing FPS spikes during gameplay in Overwatch.. I have followed all the steps except clean install of Windows 10.

How do you clean install Windows 10 with MSI laptop? I tried resetting with the F3 function, the laptop reset with MSI software loaded, not exactly a true clean install of Windows 10.

    Thank you!!

Download Microsoft software to install bootable Windows 10 on USB key and reinstall from scratch

You dont need the dragon center so i would say dont. Just install the steel series keyboard app so you can adjust lights.

Ok, thanks for the response, I can't increase power limit or core voltage in MSI AfterBurner is there any reason for that?

    I got the MSI GT72VR 7RE

    7700
    GTX 1070
    32GB DDR4
    256GB SSD plus 1TB
    120Hz G-sync 1080p

First i got huge fps drops in BF1 and I do not think the performce was good.

I then upgrade the ssd to a 960 Evo an did a clean install and no MSI software, only steelseries for keyboard.

Now the performce is on top again and BF1 runs much better. ;) Im keeping it now...

The cooling is perfect, and i think the GT73 is to much for me in the size.

Can you tell me your gpu and cpu temperatures while playing games with default clock speed and default fan speed?

    Thanks
