Hi,
Sorry for stsrting this thread im completely noob. I had a problem after windows update i experienced about 5 unexpected restarts in 7 hours of use, it did not happen during gaming but browsing, it happened after facoty reset after latest win 10 updates. I just would like to confirm there is nothing wrong with my model, its K1611 with 7820hk. I hadnt tested many games but ive heard this models might have a gpu revision 1. Im also having 2000mhz gpu in dc in turbo or sport mode, is that ok or should i worry? Gpu temp doesnt reach 70 but cpu goes up to 80 on dc turbo 4.2. I tried to ask few posts on forum but no one was able to reply, so sorry for setting up new thread. What benchmark tests should i use to check if my HW is ok and make sure im not one of those unlucky people? Ive heard as well that k1611 etc they all should be send back and get replacement with 2017 models. I dont want to believe that. Im on stock bios from 17/11/16 i think. Anyone any ideas please would really appreciate it as im worried about this now. Thanks

First, remove any overclocking from your system, get everything to default. Once you are done using default clockspeeds for both CPU and GPU, you can start testing. Download/update all the software you currently use, including things like Nahimic. Then try some games, try 3dmark firestrike, Cinebench, and just general use like browsing etc.
If you are 100% stable doing this, without any restarts/blue screens, you are most likely fine, and were running unstable overclocks or old software for your system. Since windows continuously updates, there might be a moment when your current drivers for anything that previously worked, now have issues.
For example, I had no problems playing Gears of War 4 back when it launched. But I tried playing during the weekend, and ended up having bluescreens constantly. I had to remove all my overclocks, and update Nahimic, to become fully stable again.Spartan@HIDevolution and hmscott like this. -
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Ive done some tests on time spy with score 2000 or 1900+. Im gonna do couple of more but what concers me is a cpu temp stays arpumd 73-60 when im just browsing or do something light. Sry im not sure if that temp is ok i ran xtu stress test cpu as well 10 minutes and memory stress for 5 bothwith a 90c for cpu no overclock. In time spy im getting 10-12 frames havent clue tbh but i need to test it more to make sure. No rr today im gonna update drivers thanks mate
@ryzeki ive scored in cinebench 766 ive done 3 tests temp around 76c for cpu is it ok?for gpu 99 fps arpund 40c ThxLast edited: Jun 6, 2017 -
Hmmm, your CPU temps seem a bit high in my opinion, specially since you are not running overclocks. I would recommend you to repaste your machine.
If you are not having any restarts, keep testing for a couple of days. If everything is working for those days, then your hardware is fine, you just need to take it easy with overclocks. -
I wouldnt really like to repaste it as i bought it on sunday, when laptop in idle temps aroumd 44-55 but when i do some simple browsing videos it goes over 60 on stock. Im gonna test today with a few games and see otherwise im gonna rma it for replacement

What are your ambient temps? To give you an idea, my idle temps are between 30 to 40 celsius. My browsing and general temps are on the 50s. Anything that is hard, like games and doing extensive work, goes between 60 to 70 for the most part. Pushing the 100% on the CPU reaches 80 celsius, and this is with my CPU overclocked to 4ghz.
I do recommend checking where you bought to see if they can exchange or repaste. Though if you do learn to repaste, you will feel more confident later on

Thank mate ill record a video and post it up to see how my cpu behave. Thx!

You are welcome

this was after 2 hrs playing of bf1 temps hitting 79, , also was on 4.0 in dc but hwinfo shows stock on hwinfo. while browsing or etc it still goes up to 65 or some, i spoke to retailer they said it is normaln but ive seen guys here getting better temps so it might be worth to replace with new.

The temps are "normal" but they are a bit hotter than what I would expect for such a machine. I do recommend the repaste (although in this case you probably would want to change it). Maybe you can ask the retailer if they repaste?
Not sure how changing the machine would go, honestly. Since the machine technically works on stock, but overclock gets too hot, maybe they will say no? Not sure. At any rate, repasting is hardly an issue in case you do decide to go this route.hmscott likes this. -
im gonna do oc to 4.0 with undervolt and see how it will be stable if temps will be ok in more demanding games cos if it doesnt need a replace then there is no point. also, do you think is it necessary to update bios to lastest or whatever also with firmware? maybe it will help a bit? thanks! i might consider to set it up and see how it will be running before i make decision i dont think retailer would have a problem with that as i bought it on sunday but i might change for a 1080 as well will see but i really love how cool 1070 isLast edited: Jun 7, 2017hmscott likes this.

Are you using coolerboost fan or automatic fan speed? -
Auto all the time
but i realised today in dc gpu is set at 0 in turbo but it still goes up to 1860mhz is that normal?
yet ive got once a crash on bf1 with dx error
also i tried oc in xtu with 4.1 -100mv here are the results when i played bf1 for an hour or less
cinebenchmark max temp 79c from iddle all of the cores went up to 85 max after few gameplaysAttached Files:
