Hi again guys,
Didn't want to start a new thread, but just to refresh I have a GT780DX upgraded to a 980M + 2960XM and just a nice SSD for it so that means clean install...
I have been advised to install a more current chipset, but on these MSI machines knowing the correct drivers and order can be a challenge.
The chipset driver in question is inf_allos_9.4.0.1027 (Intel Series 6 chipset driver), but I look on the page for that driver here https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...pset-Device-Software-for-Intel-Desktop-Boards ...and some confusion starts. This is not the chipset mentioned on the GT780DX support page, it is more current.
1. "Desktop Boards" - clearly I have a laptop, but it seems that even so laptop boards are considered "desktop boards"...or?
2. running wmic to get my BIOS version shows me a desktop board # that doesn't correspond with this chipset driver's supported boards
3. running the Intel updater returns nothing
Obviously I want the best chipset for the MS-1761/GT780DX/2960XM, but not sure what that is.
and I was also advised to install me_7.0.1.1144_al00
Can I learn from device manager all of the most updated drivers to search for and which information would I pay attention to to learn this?
Thank you
GT780DX Upgraded to GTX 980M & i7-2960XM
