GX640 - Blank Blue Screen on Startup, After Click on Login Info

Ok, i forgot to shut my laptop last night, and this morning when i woke up, it was already shutdown.

So i started it again, now i reach the login area where u enter user name and password. i do that, and it waits like 2 mins, then the screen becomes blank black.

After around 5min or so, the screeen becomes dark blue blank with nothing in it. except mouse that u can move.

tried last known good sittings, didnt work.

Tried to open it with safemode with command prompt and it opened, but very slowly.

I donno how to do windows recovery consule.

but when i opened the laptop normaly to try something this happened.

After it came to blank blue screen stage, i click Ctrl + ALT +Del.

And the screen became black with an error message saying this.

Failure to Display security and shutdown options:

The Logon process was unable to display security and logon options when Ctrl + Alt + Del was pressed. If the operating system does not respond, press ESC or restart the computer using power switch.

SOOO, how the hell do i fix this problem.

 

hold F8 on the post screen and it should get you to where you can access a restore point

see if that does anything

 

This might be a harddrive problem. Get spin-rite and use it. I used the level 2 recovery thing and it saved my hard drive when I screwed up the bootloader by shaking the laptop around. It is a very good piece of software and all you need to do is burn a cd with it.

 

well, i went to with safemod, but it opened sooo slowly, every thing is slow and freezes etc. it opened a screen with safemode written at above etc.

there are no buttons, icons, start menu, taskbar etc.

i hit Ctrl + ALT + DEL, it opened slowly, but freezed with a white blank screen in a min.

damn.

how do you open the windows recovery consule from boot place. the R recovery consule. i opened that once, and it worked for me, i wanna try it again.

 

what do u men spin-rite, is it a software, even if itis, if i cant get to desktop place, how am i gonno install it.

 

It is something you burn to a disc and boot with. It fixed my laptop when I scratched the hdd by shaking it around and let me boot again. It can't hurt, and it sounds like something fouled up your windows installation, so this is one of the likely culprits. I'd post in somem other forums more dedicated to windows problems as I doubt this is a specific problem with the gx640.

 

where can i get it, and how to make a cd of it.

I want to try the Windows recovery Consule, where it ask you if you want to resore system to past date etc. but i dont know how to open it.

any one know the button to open it when booting.

Also all the flash light buttons that are near power button work except the ECO and Cinama pro button which doesnt open when i press on them. (does that mean something).

Also in safemod, safemode with command and normal mode, in all three of it, there disktop icons and start bar didnt show, i think there might be something wrong with explore.exe.

well i though there was a direct way to do system restore, rather then going to safemode.

ok, after waiting like half hour, the safe mode finally completely loaded, i can see the start button again.

I quickly initialised the system restore process.

Here is the thing, i noticed that on 5:30 pm there was a critical windows update, it was the same time the laptop got broken. So may that update is the cause????

anyway, i did the system restore before the critical update, and i am stop the updates when it opens again.

but. the system restore is taking alot of time, it still in initializing mode. though i am willing to wait even hrs for it.

anyway, lets see what happens if restore completes.

 

DEAR GOD, THE DESKOP OPENED, EVEN THOUGH IT was saying that system restore faild with some error. ok. ok. ok, mmm now what, is the problem solved????

 

ok, i just did backup, and i noticed the only thing that were changed was the windows theme, it wasnt the one i choose, i reseted the theme, background, style etc. may be thats why the desktop was not loading, it was related to theme problem since its part of explore.exe.

anyway, there were also alearts shwoing to activite windows firewall and get antivirus even though my avira security suite is running.

After doing backup, i am gonno do full computer scan.

after that i am gonno restart computer, and hope it opens the next time i restart. if it opened without anyproblems, then the problem is solved by it self.

damn it gave me a complete scare, i though GPU or hardest or memory
might got broken.

it has been a very frostrating day for me.

how do u guys know its hardesk broken, i mean will it happen again?

 

ITS a fact! they eventually go limp, its a fact.

 

After a little prodding they make their way back though!

 

ok i dont get it, what is prodding and by limp do u mean slow, unresponsive.

Should i expect my hardesk to get broken soon.
