Well I cheated out and got the GX780 which came with the gt555m. Someone said that these have the 555m soldered to the motherboard. They do not:

This 555m is not cutting it for games I play so would it be possible to get a 560m or even a 570m(if they even sell them yet)

Here is the heatsink which looks like it works for the 560m already.

I also have a Vertex 3 or Vertex 2 that I will be using in the second hard drive bay once I find where I can buy the bracket. Might keep vertex 2 in desktop depending if it works or not.

Check out the above video at around 5 seconds.

From what I can see from the top view (of the heat blocks), it's pretty much the same setup. And the GT780DXR model has the GTX 570M, but I don't think they're for sale separately yet. Also, your heatsink may line up incorrectly with the GTX 570M, and I can already see that it won't fit a 580m. As you stated, it would fit the 560m, but I can't guarantee that it would work. It would be hard to get a modded heatsink (at least for a 580m) as MSI custom makes theirs. You would have to wait until MSI releases a proper heat sink. Take a look at the 560m and 580m photos below. I couldn't find a 570m photo.

A DXR heatsink would fit the 580M, that would be beastly, your machine with that heatsink will take a 560M no problem.

You also need the little PCB that has the slot on it if you want a second HDD/SSD.

I actually have that little pcb. I had to remove it to be able to get the video card out.

Would love to get a 570m but I doubt that I would have enough to power it. Think I have a 150w brick and the DXR has a 180w?

If I had only waited a week before that DXR was released here in Canada(and my cheapness)

Update: Well I just took out my gt555m and replaced it with a new gtx560m. It is working great! The bios from the GX780 now shows that it is a GT780, so the bios between the two are the same.

I'm going to hold on to it for awhile longer.

I bought the 560m off of ebay from a seller named "upgradeyourlaptop" from Nepean Ontario Canada.
