    Mine looks exactly like that.

Is there a version number written on it somewhere?

You can see some pics of my card here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/msi...works-fx-3700m-full-clocks-2.html#post6596471

I think the people who sold me the card might have baked it now that I look at it again.
Because some of the solder has a yellow color to it, sort of matches a 9500m GS that I baked.
    I hope it's not baked.

Our cards may be different, because mine came with the .5 vbios and yours is .10.

I think you might be able to flash a 280m vbios onto your card. Those cards that came with the .10 vbios seem to be the only cards that work well with the 280m vbios.

Already did. Didn't do a thing. It also seems like it's time for me to upgrade to the gx640. My usb ports are gone. I can put a flash drive in and read it but the bios doesn't even detect it. And every thing I plug shows as usb device has malfunctioned. Bluetooth is also gone.

Dang : / that's unfortunate.. Well, at least you'll (hopefully) have less problems with a newer notebook.

I had the "usb device has malfunctioned" problem twice, both times it went away after I took the CMOS battery out. My USB ports are working again :)

Bluetooth is using an internal USB port, so that should come back if you can fix the USB problem.

So the 280m vbios is working for you? Thats really awesome. I had been wondering about this for a long time.
If nothing else you can resell the card for double.

I'm not sure about your fan problems, I have had a similar issue however which is odd because I have a clevo.

What happens for me is I'm stuck in "silent mode". I thought it was pretty bad too, the fan wouldn't spin up any more than its very low speed even above 80c.

Going it to standby and coming out again fixes it for me.

I think some cards simply don't support fan control. Which is stupid that anything should come of this, because notebooks of course have fan control, and the cards do have temp sensors.

Did you get to run 3dmark or any games yet?

So you installed the driver and it's all working fine?

Well, it was working fine.... for a bit. I wasn't expecting it to work with the driver installed. Everytime I open anything 3d, it immediately stops responding :[

    Gonna try a different driver

    Nope, new driver didn't help.

    Bummer.

Well, I guess I'm gonna revert it back to the 3700.

When I tried it I got lots of artifacts after I installed the driver.

The 9800m GTX vbios worked better, but it wasn't perfect.

What voltage and clocks are on the 280m vbios? Its at 1v stock which is too low.
If its not artifacting then you probably have a different issue then the other 3700m to 280m attempts.

Also you should try the later HP stock vbios I uploaded if thats not the one you have already.

Since this thread is already off topic and were posting screenshots, heres an update on my Lenovo card. I think they are generally better than HP ones now. Its performing quite well. No 280m vbios though.

That was because the 280 runs at 1v at Max. The fx3700 is simply too power hungry to handle those speeds with a lower voltage than stock.
