How do you know which model is the newer model? For example, a seller is selling an MSI GE62VR 7RF - 024 or GE62VR 7RF - 466? What's the difference if the specs are the same?
I understand most of the name meaning. G = Gaming Laptop E = E series 6 = 15.6" monitor 2 = 2nd edition VR = VR ready 7 = Intel 7th Generation R = NVIDIA GTX 10 series F = 60 (so GTX 1060) and the last three numbers are the last three numbers in the model number on the laptop itself. I just don't understand what would be the reason for choosing the 024 over the 466, if the specs are the same and it's the same price.
Please. I hope someone can explain.![]()

The main differences between these laptops are the interchangeable parts: Screen (1080p IPS 60Hz, 1080p TN 120Hz for 17" and 4K RGBW Pentile 60Hz), RAM (8, 12, 16 and even 24GB) and storage (Some models come with the HDD only, some with an HDD + SSD, the SSD could be a Sata or NVME, depending on the model number). If MSI advertizes a certain laptop model with an NVME SSD and a 120Hz screen, chances are only a select few model numbers have such features.

Also, the GE62VR 7RF is not the newest one: MSI has already started shipping the GE63VR Raider, that's the newest GE laptop.

Okay. Now, I'm even more confused. Is there a list with models released by date or something? As I see it, you're basically telling me...there's no easy way to tell the difference. I have to compare every single detail between models?
