Hello, having trouble finding an answer to my question.
I know the GT80 supports multiple monitors but I'm not sure if it is capable of doing three monitors at 4k res.
Before you tell me, no, I do not planning on gaming on a triple 4k setup I just want the workspace when I'm not gaming.

I think my answer is here:

Be aware the HDMI is 1.4 so while nvidia can do 4k on that there are caveats.

You can have 4K monitors on the mini display output at 60hz, but for the HDMI 1.4 you can only do up to 4k at 30hz. You could have all three display 4k at 30hz, though that would be overkill haha.
I'd say triple monitor at 1080p or so would be great. Sadly I don't have 3 monitors at the moment to test it. But I did test the 4K resolution support and it works. -

You can do 60hz 4k but with 4:2:0 chroma, so there always has to be some sacrifice for the bandwidth.

What model of TV do you have?

On a side note, it seems like that included 18inch IPS ran without issues at 72hz so far. -

I wonder if we will get active DP to HDMI 2.0 adaptors.

It does seem like Chroma subsample enters in effect automatically... I just tried yesterday by connecting my laptop and selecting 4k 60hz. I saw a slight reduction in image quality, but it did seem to run at 60hz.
What I need to find now though, is if there is a way to force it. I noticed that some games were unable to run stable at 4k 60hz as the TV displayed weird color artifacts that went away at 1080p 60hz, or 4k at 30hz.
Uni engine Heaven though, did run without artifacts (though granted... my SLI 980m barely mustered between 18 and 38fps haha) -

Both mini displayport adapters should work though. I was just testing because my TV is HDMI 2.0 and it does work despite my laptop outputing via HDMI 1.4, using the provided cable and port of my TV for it.
I'd recommend using mini display output for gaming, but HDMI works well for... working hehe.Kevin@GenTechPC likes this. -

That's good to know, thank you ryzeki!

I primarily want the 4k triple setup for desktop workspace. So 30hz doesn't matter too much then right? Or does only one monitor run at 30hz while the other two are at 60hz? -

Unless you enable nvidia surround, you won't use all monitors to game simultaneously. -

Yes it will support G-sync
How many monitors and at what resolution does the MSI GT80 Titan support?
