My msi GT 683 DXR finally died, I am pretty sure it was the video card.
I cannot access the system, as it keeps rebooting and the graphics now have the random colors and pix-elation.
I would like to get the data off the hard drives.
I just purchased a new Alienware Aurora Gaming Desktop.
What is the best way to get the data off of the laptop hard drives and onto my new PC?
According to this thread ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/the-official-gt683r-gt683dxr-owners-lounge.603983/page-132), the hdd setup is 1TB hard drive with Raid 0?

It sure does sound like a GPU has failed.
It's an MXM card so can be replaced easy enough.
If the Hard disk(s) is in RAID 0 the data is gone which is why the backup Bible exists.
If the Hard Drives are not in RAID 0 you can the use either a 2.5" SATA external enclosure or just a set of SATA data cables and power cables.

If, so what is the easiest replacement for it? The machine is dying all round, so I'm not worried about adding top of the line, just want to access it. -

Yes i mean GPU, its in an MXM Slot (Used to own a MS-16F2 myself)
Simply remove the back cover of the laptop and the battery, then remove the Heatsink and Fan for the GPU. After this unscrew the GPU from the mainboard (There is normally one or two screws to unscrew) then remove the card and replace the card, then reverse the process.
Its abit old your system however the person i sold my MS-16F2 too, still reports it to be working even now.
Not sure what card you had in there be it a GTX460/480 GTX 560 GTX 570, GTX 580 or an AMD GPU.
I still have a GTX 560m MXM card with it heatsink somewhere as i upgraded mine to a GTX 770m. -
Thanks for the explanation.
The stock 570M. -

Just becareful not to buy the Dell Versions, You'll need an MSI version of the card.
