Hey everyone need help. I went to update all my MSI notebooks today to patch the infamous Intel ME security bug (yeah late to the party). I had no problems on my MSI GT73VR Titan Pro (nvidia 1080) and my MSI GS43VR Kaby Lake (1060 nvidia) and the Intel SA00086 said they were both patched and systems secure. Here is my problem though:

My newest MSI, the MSI GE63VR, wont run the ME 118H firmware update. I downloaded the latest BIOS (E16P1IMS.104) and it went smooth and shows updated. Then i went to run the ME 118H update just like i did with the other two and the screen popped up and then disappeared so fast i couldn't see what it said but it didn't update. I ran it again and this time quickly took a print screen when it flashed and was barely able to get what it said. It said first that my CPU was "Ultra low voltage CPU" and it went to updating but didn't. And in RED letters it said "Error 8719: Firmware update cannot be initiated because local firmware is disabled" see the screenshot i was barely able to capture before it just disappeared

I tried to reinstall the bios which was successful and still keep running into the same problem. This is my newest MSI (bought Nov 2017) and the one i use the most so i need this security vulnerability patched! Help guys (and gals)!!!

You need to reset the BIOS to default and not touch a thing in the settings other than the boot mode, AHCI or RAID

Secondly, you need to run the ME firmware update by placing its folder on the desktop, and don't run it as admin, just double click the batch file

also, before extracting the zip file for the ME firmware update which you downloaded from the MSI website, right click on the ZIP file, go to properties, then hit unblock from the bottom right otherwise all the files within the ZIP file have a blocked status which could lead to issues
