seems pretty cool so far..fan is kinda loud tho

The fan does have to work hard to keep the beast cool when gaming yes. Enjoy the machine
-
If you game with headphones on (which I personally recommend) than fan noise stops becoming an issue. Enjoy your new notebook and welcome aboard

I just tracked mine and it's waiting for me to pick it up at the ups facility! Unfortunately I'm farming today so it will have to wait a few hours
Sent from my Galaxy S5 using my neighbors internet -
Good choice, congrats and enjoy it

i have a question:
the cpu is rated as 2.8-3.8 ghz..does it automatically clock to 3.8 or do i have to do it manually? -
The CPU boost is completely automatic, you do not need to do anything.
-

3.8ghz for single core, 3.7ghz for dual and 3.6ghz for quad core, remember this when running a multi threaded application and never seeing speeds above 3.6ghz.

a question:
I bought two sticks of DDR3 ram (4gb each) and i want to install them..however when i removed the cover, the ram slots were blocked by one of the cooling copper pipes (cooler boost 2 bridge thingy im guessing)...i was wondering if i can install the ram without removing the pipes..or will i need to completely remove em??? is there a tutorial video or something? -

You will have to remove the GPU heatsink and two of the 3 screws on the CPU heatsink.
-
which one is the GPU and which one is the CPU?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Well as I said the CPU heatsink is the one with 3 screws.
-
after removing the heatsink will i need to reapply the thermal paste?
-
You don't need to completely remove the heat-sink. Just loosen the screws and lift up enough to get the memory installed, then push it back into place and tightened down as indicated. Shouldn't need to reapply paste on a brand new system, unless you're upgrading thermal paste or something. Although I know some do as a matter of personal preference.
-
I view it as once you move it you break the "seal".... clean it and repaste at that point
-

Yes moving the heatsink breaks the paste job so the cpu heatsink can be left but the gpu will need fresh paste.

a question:?
the ram i have installed in the computer right now is 1.35V the ram i want to upgrade is 1.5 v ..is that going to make it incompatible ? -
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Haswell uses low voltage RAM so you will want to return the 1.5v and get 1.35v. -
would the higher voltage ram damage te computer?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
No, the computer wont supply 1.5V, so it has a chance of being unstable.
-
so if i upgrade the RAM, the warranty is void?
-
Kevin@GenTechPC Company Representative
It is not void unless something is physically damaged internally. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yeah though you would need a specific reason to add more.
-
what kind of reason?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You tell me, what program do you run that needs more than 12 gigs?
-
i do a lot of multi tasking with photoshop and sony vegas both running at the same time and depending on how many layers i have open. the ram gets eaten up pretty fast
-
I do a lot of photography and videography
-
Kevin@GenTechPC Company Representative
Have you checked if you really use up that much with task manager?
If you are, then considering the cost of RAM has gone done so much, why not.
Just arrived!
